Creating community through story and song

 

A graduate of Thayer Academy, Zac Gondelman is a student at Brandeis University in Waltham, Massachusetts.  He is an award-winning musician, songleader, and advocate for queer and minority students. For the past six years, he served as the Temple Beth Elohim Student Intern. Through song and story, Zac shares his experiences as a gay Jew, creating warm, welcoming, and uplifting space for prayer and discussion.

Thirteen years ago, Zac began his musical journey training at the New England Conservatory of Music. Zac is classically trained in violin, guitar, musical theory, and voice.

Zac believes deeply in advocating for the rights of others. He works to build bridges and cultivate empathy through teaching. From workshops and small classes to lectures, he is an educator at heart. He also developed an LGBTQ+ education curriculum for 7th-11th grade students and loves doing professional development.

 

A graduate of Thayer Academy, Zac is a student at Brandeis University in Waltham, MA. During his time at Thayer, he was extremely active in student leadership. He served as President of the OMEGA — the Academy’s diversity board. He also founded the QUEST Student-Teacher Fellowship — a fellowship for Diversity, Equity, Inclusion, and Justice Education.
